Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 5.9% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 938,364 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,190 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,290 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 958,321 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of 5.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 30.4% of total generation, while solar and natural gas contributed 18.1% and 13.6%, respectively.
Daily electricity generation from solar energy in Türkiye reached its highest level of the year on June 2, at 173,139 megawatt-hours. The previous highest level of solar-powered electricity generation this year was recorded on June 1, at 171,350 megawatt-hours.
On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 24,128 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,213 megawatt-hours.
