Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 3.2% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 692,727 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 33,303 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 23,326 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 710,679 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking an increase of about 3.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 36.2% of total generation, while solar and lignite plants contributed 22% and 12.7%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 23,164 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,893 megawatt-hours.
