Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 5.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 730,130 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,487 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 24,210 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 748,896 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking an increase of about 5.4% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 35.7% of total generation, while solar and lignite plants contributed 20.5% and 12.7%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 23,483 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,806 megawatt-hours.
