RIYADH: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi received Nizar Jamal Haddad, program director of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN in the Kingdom, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh on Sunday.
The two sides discussed strengthening cooperation between the GCC and the FAO, including opportunities to exchange expertise and develop research partnerships that support the strategic goals of GCC member states in the agriculture and food security sectors, according to a statement from the General Secretariat.
Al-Budaiwi praised the FAO’s efforts to support food security across GCC countries through sustainable scientific solutions and technologies, as well as its commitment to building partnerships with regional and international organizations.
