LONDON: King Abdullah of Jordan discussed regional developments with Iraqi parliament speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi on Sunday at Al-Husseiniya Palace in Amman.

King Abdullah emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to strengthen the ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran, while safeguarding the security and sovereignty of Arab states, according to the Jordan News Agency.

He cautioned that Israel might take advantage of the regional conflict, which started in late February, to establish new realities in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza.

Al-Halbousi also separately met with Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, who reaffirmed Jordan’s support for enhancing Iraq’s security and stability, as it is part of Jordan’s and the region’s security, the JNA added.

They discussed collaboration on various projects in energy, electricity, and economic trade, specifically to facilitate the movement of private-sector and businesspeople from both countries.
