MAKKAH: The Exhibition of the Two Holy Mosques’ Architecture continues to enrich the visitor experience by showcasing rare historical artifacts that reflect the development of services at the Grand Mosque over recent decades.

Among these is a wooden platform on a marble base, once placed next to the Black Stone, where a soldier stood to organize the movement of pilgrims performing Tawaf around the Kaaba.

The artifact highlights early crowd-management practices at the Grand Mosque before the introduction of modern systems and technologies.

The exhibition explains its historical significance, showing how it helped facilitate the movement of pilgrims and Umrah performers in highly crowded areas.

The display aligns with the exhibition’s mission to document the history of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, highlighting their architectural and service development through artifacts, photographs, and historical records.
