In March 2013, construction of the Louvre Abu Dhabi began on Saadiyat island.A year later, the site has transformed from a mere sandpit filled with concrete stumps to a maze of steel and concrete with the museum's iconic dome slowly taking shape and the first permanent gallery complete.
