Special Plan Being Implemented in Iraq to Serve Pilgrims Celebrating Eid al-Ghadir

IQNA – Iraqi cities and religious sites are witnessing extensive measures to ensure security and provide services to welcome millions of pilgrims traveling to the country to celebrate Eid al-Ghadir.

The Iraqi ministry of interior announced the preparation of a comprehensive security and service plan to ensure the security of Eid al-Ghadir pilgrims, emphasizing that this plan will focus on facilitating the movement of pilgrims in pilgrimage sites and establishing order and security, Tanawu News reported.

Colonel Muhammad Ali al-Hassoun, spokesman for the interior ministry, said the comprehensive security and service plan to ensure the security of the Eid al-Ghadir ceremonies has been prepared in coordination with all security organizations and supporting institutions with the aim of providing the highest level of security and smoothing the movement of pilgrims and citizens in Baghdad and the provinces, especially in the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf, which are witnessing a large influx of pilgrims.

He added that the security plan includes strengthening intelligence efforts, deploying security teams, increasing traffic measures, ensuring the security of citizens’ vehicles, as well as ensuring the security of external and internal roads, with a focus on facilitating citizens' movement and providing them with the best necessary services.

Al-Hassoun said the ministry of interior has ordered all its organizations to increase the level of preparedness and continue their field presence to ensure the success of this occasion and its celebration in a safe and stable environment.
