Kuwait and Bahrain say responding to ‘hostile’ missile and drone attacks

KUWAIT CITY/MANAMA: Kuwait and Bahrain said early Saturday they were responding to “hostile” missile and drone attacks, days after coming under attack after US and Iranian forces exchanged fire.

“Kuwaiti air defenses are currently responding to hostile missile and drone attacks,” the military said on X, without specifying their origin. A strike on the on the country’s international airport on June 3 killed one and wounded dozens.

“The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces confirms that any explosions that may be heard are the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile attacks,” the Kuwait Army added.I

In Bahrain, the interior ministry issued an air raid alert after new US airstrikes in Iran and Kuwait’s announcement of intercepting missiles and drones.

“The siren has been sounded ..Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place,” the ministry said on X.
