WASHINGTON: US Vice President JD Vance met with the ‌prime minister ‌of Qatar ‌in Washington to discuss the negotiations with Iran among other topics, a source familiar with the talks ‌said ‌on Friday.

Vance’s ‌talks with ‌Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani will cover US-Qatar relations ‌and the situation in Iran, with a focus on LNG markets and regional stability, the source said.

Following the meeting, Al-Thani said he and Vance discussed with Pakistan’s mediation efforts to de-escalate regional tensions, and emphasized the need for all parties to engage with mediation efforts to reach an agreement.
