ATHENS: The European Union’s mutual assistance clause is unambiguous, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday during a visit to Greece.
Macron, speaking ‌at a ‌news conference ‌with ⁠Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos ⁠Mitsotakis, told reporters: “On article 42, paragraph seven ... we know that for us, it ⁠is clear ‌and ‌there is no room ‌for interpretation or ‌ambiguity, if I may say so, on this clause.”
EU leaders ‌have asked officials to prepare a ⁠blueprint ⁠for how the bloc’s previously obscure mutual assistance clause would work, amid doubts over US commitment to the NATO military alliance.
